Picking one is so hard.. When I was a child it was The Lonely Doll by Dare Wright (yes, I'm over 50)! Now it's Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon by Patty Lovell, illustrated by David Catrow. Be proud of being different!
Well, as a child, I think my favorite children's book was Danny and the Dinosaur. I don't even remember much of the story other than a boy and his (imaginary, maybe?) brontosaurus. As a boy who loved dinosaurs (what boy didn't), it was right up my alley.
As an adult reading more children's books, I appreciate the work of Mo Willems. I enjoy his humor and artwork.
